A Bit of History

The Bison Boosters organization was started in the mid-1970s to give moral and financial support to the athletic programs at Hazen High School. All funds raised go toward purchases or major projects for the athletic department. Bison Boosters don’t sponsor individuals or specific programs, but support athletics as a whole.

Some major items the Boosters have purchased include uniforms, lights for athletic complex, athletic complex bleachers, and weight equipment for the weight room. The Boosters have a yearly commitment to purchase new and up-to-date equipment for  the weight room to keep up with the needs of athletes. The Boosters and the Hazen School have worked together to fund the new crows nest at the athletic complex and the new wood floor in the High School gym.

The Bison Boosters sponsor sports programs for our athletes. Some of these programs include basketball camps for grades 1-6 and grades 7-9, volleyball camp for grades 5-6, summer basketball and volleyball leagues, and grades 1-4 basketball program during the school year.

The Boosters provide hospitality rooms for tournaments that Hazen hosts and also provide tournament help with crowd control and tickets. They host the award potlucks at the end of the sports seasons. This gives the coaching staff the opportunity to highlight the season and present the athletes with their awards.
