Welcome to Hazen Elementary School
Hello! My name is Trevor Sinclair. I am a graduate of Minot State University and the University of North Dakota. This is my 12th year as the elementary principal in Hazen. My wife Shayla and I are starting our 23rd year in the great field of education! Prior to my time here in Hazen, I was an elementary principal for three years and a 4th grade teacher for four years in Washburn, ND. I have also taught the primary grades for four years at Mt. Pleasant School in Rolla, ND.
Our school is in a district that also has a middle school for grades 6-8, and a high school for grades 9-12. We have grades kindergarten-5th in our school. In our building, we also have Oliver Mercer Special Education offices and the Oliver Mercer Preschool Program. Oliver Mercer Special Education includes speech and occupational therapy services for our district.
I am proud to share that our elementary school was recently named a North Dakota Title I High Performing School in 2023 for continued excellence on the North Dakota State Assessment in math and reading.
